My motto is “If it’s in my head, it must come out of my mouth.” I think best when I think out loud, and I always have plenty to think about. Shrike can’t be around all the time (gets really tired of listening to me when she is) and Peeper’s a pretty good listener, but sometimes she’s not my most appropriate audience, so it helps to write it all out.
I seem to suffer under the delusion that there is something about our lives that is so fascinating that other people might be interested in hearing about it. Or at least that our kid is so adorable that everyone wants to see photos of her and hear about her exploits.
Maybe this ties in with some of the above reasons, but whether I’m writing about something as profound as my Peeper’s birth, or as mundane as what I cooked for dinner last night, when total strangers are moved to comment on my thoughts, that’s pretty cool.
