When Peeper turned four-and-a-half, we discussed the possibility of stopping the monthly panda photos after her fifth birthday, and dropping back to every 3 or 6 months. (Eventually just annually, I suppose.) At the time, she liked that idea, but she seems to be more positive about taking the photos these days, so we’ll just have to see what happens.
In the meantime:
On Monday, when I told Peeper it was time for photos, she ran and sat by Mr. Panda, because that’s usually what that means. When I offered to make those her “official” panda pictures for the month, she protested and insisted that we take more the next day.
Yesterday, as we were getting in the car, she said, “Oh no! We forgot to take a picture with Mr. Panda!” I assured her that we’d do it after school, but well, nope, that didn’t happen.
So, here she is, fifty-eight months and one day old.
Peeper was actually quite cooperative about the panda photos this month. The book she’s reading is one of the ones we bought at the reenactment of the burning of our town. It’s about a family living here during the war, on the eve of a huge battle nearby. When we got home, I realized that it was written by a women whom I know through the local Democratic party!
